Shortly after the release of his latest album DS2, Future decided to show his fans a lot of love & appreciation by having a FREE concert, “Salute The Fans” for 500 fans who purchased DS2 – legally that is, and were able to provide proof of their purchase – that’s a pure genius marketing strategy, if you ask me.
No, we weren’t able to attend this past Salute The Fans concert, but FakeShoreDrive was. You can read more about the actual concert here courtesy of Andrew, founder of FakeShoreDrive.
Upon the official announcement of the location where Future would be performing that evening, the lines immediately wrapped around The Shrine at approximately 10AM, if not 9AM; however, the doors at The Shrine opened at 10PM. That’s how determine and excited Future fans were to witness him live. Those Future fans that waited in line for hours are the real MVPs and deserve a few salutes. While Future fans gathered around The Shrine assuring entrance of the concert, Future was hanging out. No, he wasn’t put up in Trump Towers DownTown or anything, he was hanging around over East.
From what we’ve seen via Instagram, once Future arrived in Chicago, he was hanging out in hoods partaking in the “hood festivities” and met up with his FreeBandz artist, Zona Man. The two were able to shoot the visual for Zona Man’s single, Mean To Me featuring Future & Lil Durk. Future was out hitting these Chicago streets as if he was born & raised in the Chi, which you could only respect and admire him for doing. I respect Future more as an artist for sticking to the things he states in his music. It’s obvious that Future’s music is made for the hood, but Future also lets it clearly be known that although he has gained tons of success, he’s from the hood and doesn’t have any problems with visiting any hood in any city whenever he gets the chance to.
Shoutout to our friend, Tito G. (@gotit_lens) for providing us with these amazing shots of Future performing. Visit www.totaliivision.com and book Tito G for your next event by calling 847-530-2273.
We would also like to shoutout the city of Chicago for having such a huge concert without any violence being reported due to the presence of Future.
