I’m not necessarily sure what other cities may refer to their females who tend to have promiscuous ways and engage in “Hoe-like” behavior, but I do know where I come from they went from being called Doorknobs, Bustdowns, Bussas, Bussa Babies, Road Runners, Jump ropes (I probably just made that one up), THOTS, THOTTIES, THOTiannas, Baby THOT THOTS, or just plain ol hoes and whores. Back in the days, the fact that a female slept with a lot of guys defined her as one of those many terminologies, if not more. But nowadays purchasing a specific type of brand such as Converse All Star Shoes, Bud Light Lime-A-Rita (aka THOT Juice), Leggings (Rainbow and Discovery Stores’ ones mainly). And even before then, the little Dollar Store flips (the ones with the big flower on them that came in pink and yellow) and K Swiss shoes were Hoe-like materials of the summer.
I may be wrong but I believe the micros and kinky twist hairdos almost made the list but those actually made some females look presentable so they got a pass.
Why is it that certain products, that people take a liking to, define them as a hoe? I always loved wearing Converse All Star shoes and if I’m drinking alcohol, what’s wrong with the collaboration of Patron and Lime-A-Rita, besides a next day massive headache? I don’t like drinking liquor straight and plus, “…Cause ima lady!” (In Shanaynay off Martin voice). I’m far from a hoe or whore, don’t let the “Get Down Brown” name fool you, it really don’t even mean what it says. The crazy part about it all is that all the categorizing is not even affecting the grown women, who actually might hold the hoe title. I know some women (not whores of course)who will rock some skechers with the rollerblades and wouldn’t give a care in the world about what anybody has to say about them, which is how it’s suppose to be, and would glide on down the street with absolutely no worries…skate on, my skaters! But if you go to a mall or department store and see kids and young teens from this generation with their parents, the conversation usually goes something like this:
Parent: (holds up shirt in the department store) “This shirt cute, you like this one?”
Child: (frowns up) “I aint no THOT ma!”
Parent: “What’s a THOT?”
Child: (smacks lips) “You know ma, they be out here.”
Parent: “Out here doing what?”
People don’t really know what a THOT is, they just saying it because they hear other people saying it and artists putting it in their music. It doesn’t take much to get something trending especially with the right person promoting and advertising it. Whenever I see or hear (and I don’t mean any of that physically) about a female engaging in any sexual activities with numerous men (and vise versa) will be referred to as hoe or whore from me. But I don’t judge anyone who is one though because that may be their specialties and define one of their characteristics, so who are we to really judge? If we gone call something one thing, let’s just make sure we stick to that one definition and stop having all these different meanings to ish!
Let’s keep it simple and tell it how it is, if it really is what it is! There’s no such thing as THOT merchandise people!
