Chicago’s very own, Vic Mensa recently sat down with The Breakfast Club to discuss not only his latest EP, There’s Alot Going On but to really discuss what’s been going on within his life & in the world today especially here in Chicago.
If you listen carefully to There’s Alot Going On, Vic express a lot of frustration & disappointment towards law officials due to their injustice actions which has resulted to a lot of situations similar to the death of Laquan McDonald. One of the most controversial questions asked to Vic by Charlamagne was the difference between standing up against the police verses standing up against “Black on Black” crime in the inner city. Vic stated, “In my mind, Black On Black crime – the entire concept is a forest. It’s wrong. It’s a lie. Because you’re not taking into account the factors that create this volatile situation.”
Vic also spoke about a few personal issues that he has encounter such as dealing with depression, his past relationship & his ability to quit certain substances of his choice. Vic even discuss being signed to Roc Nation & the relationship he has with Jay Z & Kanye West.
