Last night, the concert event people have been waiting for finally went down. Beyoncé & Jay Z’s On The Run was brought to us via HBO. It absolutely lived up to the hype.
They both perform many of the songs we love & have us interludes that were both mini movies & personal moments. This is what we thought:
K: I’m sure I’ve mentioned how much I absolutely love Beyoncé. So obviously my calendar was marked & come showtime I was right in front of the TV. The whole concert was incredible. From the songs performed to the graphics & the taped interludes it was definitely awesome all around. It barely felt like 2 & a half hours. My favorite moments were obviously Bey & Nicki performing the Flawless remix, as well as Bey’s incredible rendition of Lauryn Hill’s Ex Factor. I was also very moved by her heart-felt delivery of Resentment & I was tickled by the voice mails of Beyoncé cursing out Jay. My favorite part was probably the end. Those videos of Blue were so precious. And the way Bey & Jay looked at each other with pure love. Just beautiful. It was a great show.
Simply Brown: I’ve always been a Beyoncé and Jay Z fan as long as I could remember. I literally grew up loving Jigga man right after Hardknock Life. After witnessing the On The Run performance, you can’t do anything but love Jay & Bey so much more. The two didn’t disappoint nor short change us at all. In case you didn’t notice, Jay & Bey have hits for days and could have continued “On The Run”. My favorite moments were pretty much every time Jay & Bey transitioned into each other performances perfectly. The little romance scenes on stage were adorable as well especially since the two are the most talented musical entertainers who happen to be real life husband and wife. It was also nice seeing Nicki Minaj joined the duo On The Run, “but of course sh*t goes down on the elevators when it’s a billion dollars on the elevator”, that just happens to one of my favorite singles by Beyoncé. The entire show was amazing, Beyoncé and Jay Z are amazing, and HBO amazing for airing the On The Run Tour.
