Sunday afternoon, we had the privilege of going out and experiencing The Movement’s Sip N Shop Event. It was an incredible event with a lot of amazing people.
The event was presented by Lifestyle Official and b.e.d. It took place at the Chicago’s hot spot, Society Art Gallery. The night was hosted by Tony Sculfield and DJed by JayiLLa. JayiLLa definitely held it down with the music all night.
The event highlighted Chicago’s hottest clothing brands. Lines such as Sir & Madame (sirandmadame.com), Fashion Geek (instagram @fashiongeekzo), Fort Maner (ftmaner.com), Robotic Minds (roboticmindsclothing.com), PRSVR (shopprsvr.com), PHLI (phliworldwide.com) & Malze Treal (malzetreal.com). Sip N Shop was an awesome event highlighting black-owned businesses for Black History Month. It was a very positive event with great people coming together, enjoying themselves and sipping drinks of their preference during the process. Small Talk 4 U’s very own, Samantha Thomas was also in the building conducting live interviews, which will be available soon at smalltalk4u.com.
The wonderful food was provided by local restaurants Dreamchef, Litehouse Grill, Uncle Joe’s Jerk Chicken, and Just Turkey. There were delicious cupcakes courtesy of Cupcakes & Cocktails.
It was a great evening that we thoroughly enjoyed. Beyond being enjoyable it was great for the community. It was not just about getting together, sipping and shopping. The purpose of the event was to bring awareness to the social and economic power of Black consumers. A portion of the ticket sales went to Westside Association for Community Action or WACA. WACA is a social service agency that is dedicated to addressing community problems on Chicago’s West Side.
We would like to thank Lifestyle Official’s Bobby Burke and b.e.d. for their hospitality. If you were unable to make it out to this event, Lifestyle Official will be having a We Love Hip Hop event on March 8th at The Promontory. Tickets are only $5. Follow @lifestyleofficial for more information.
