Last night, if you were not at The Shrine you missed out. The city came out to have a good time & enjoy a good show.
Per usual there was a good crowd out. DJ BstEvrMateo spun a lot of great 90s music to get the crowd ready for SWV. Meanwhile, SWV granted some very excited fans the opportunity to meet & greet. Coko, Lelee & Taj laughed, jigged along to the music, & took photos with fans. They then went to get ready for the show.
In the meantime, we all continued to jam to the music. Before long the stage was set & the host brought out SWV. The ladies immediately went into their many hits. The ladies performed such hits as Right Here, Anything, Can We Get Kinky Tonite, I’m So Into You, Downtown, It’s All About U, Use Your Heart, Rain, &, of course, the classic Weak. They mixed in some updated Hip Hop beats & hit some mean choreo. Lelee even took a moment to sing Take You There before thanking everybody for coming out. SWV tore the roof off & let everybody know that they are indeed the sisters with voices.
Following their amazing performance, we had an opportunity to sit down with SWV for a few moments. Let me just say the ladies are even more funny than their reality show suggests & are truly warm, fun-loving women.
As the ladies have been making music for over 20 years & have only ever made good music, we were anxious to know when we could expect new music. They have just released the song Ain’t No Man, which is a tribute to all of the good men out there. The ladies are currently working on new music with producer Cainon Lamb, who they worked on their last album with. Lelee also said there are many artists in which they would like to work with, particularly the Black Eyed Peas. Keep an eye out for the more of SWV’s WeTV reality show.
Along with SWV, The Shrine also hosted a few parties, particularly the after party for the Chris Brown concert, hosted by Teyana Taylor. It was another big night at The Shrine.
Shoutout to the sponsors Deléon Tequila, Seagrams Gin, & Armand de Brignac. Next Shrine Thursday come out & party with Draya Michele. That is just one of the great events coming to The Shrine. Keep in tune at theshrinechicago.com. Special thanks to Catrice Armstrong of PR Werks, once again.
