Last night we had the privilege of going out to yet another Shrine Thursday. It was absolutely the place to be.
The Shrine Thursdays is presented by the wonderful Susu. She has been bringing out so many amazing people & making some great experiences happen at The Shrine. A nice, but boss woman who gets it done, Susu is determined to make sure that Chicago gets the best.
Last night she pulled off another great Shrine Thursdays event with 50 Cent. 50’s Effen Vodka sponsored the night & served up some great drinks for the packed crowd. We certainly enjoyed our Black Cherry Effen drinks.
Before 50 even set foot in the place, the place was lit. The Effen Vodka was flowing, DJ ibHappy & DJ MileHigh were spinning records & had everybody dancing. Then out came 50 to host & the crowd was blessed with the DJ spinning some of 50’s biggest hits, such as A Lil Bit, P.I.M.P, I Get Money, In Da Club & Disco Inferno. 50 stood up on stage, but not for long. He climbed down onto the bar & started pouring people Effen & handing out bottles as he bopped along to the music.
50 then began requesting songs for the DJ to play like Rico Richie’s Poppin & Future’s March Madness. He took a moment to rap along to What Up Gangsta as the crowd went wild, then asked to hear the best music out of the Chi. It so happened that Yung Stakks was in the building & the DJ put on his single Stakk Money as he grabbed the mic & got on the bar with 50. After that they kept the local theme going, playing songs by Spenzo, Chief Keef, King Louie, Stunt Taylor & more.
It was a great time. Once again The Shrine turned a Thursday night into more than the day before the weekend. 50 showed Chicago a lot of love & the crowd definitely gave it back. Make sure you get yourself some of 50’s Effen Vodka, which has a new flavor, Effen Cucumber. If you have not experienced Shrine Thursdays you need to make it your mission. Susu has said that she will continue to bring out legends & show the city a good time. Stay tuned to theshrinechicago.com & her IG @Susu44 to see what is coming next. I guarantee you’ll want to be there.
Special shout out to Catrice Armstrong of PR Werks for inviting us out. Check out the photos from last night below:
