Last night was the season premiere of Tyrese & Rev. Run new talk show called It’s Not You It’s Men on OWN. I found the show very interesting just hearing the name & knowing that Tyrese being a single man & Rev. Run being a married man, are both giving their honest feedback about specific topics about relationships. There’s definitely no holding back when it comes to Tyrese & Rev. – these two don’t mind speaking their mind about any & everything in the most unbiased way.
Each week there will be a different topic that Tyrese & Rev. will discuss & last night’s topic was, Sex & Sensibility. Of course with Rev. being a married man & a reverend, his advice for others would be to wait before having sex. He doesn’t discredit anyone who choose not to – he stated that his daughter, Vanessa has a daughter & his son, JoJo has a baby on the way & both aren’t married; therefore, he doesn’t look down on others because of their decisions they made in life. Tyrese on the other hand, believes in partaking in sexual favors way before marriage. With him being a very sexually active man who has been & seen a few things already, his concern with waiting to have sex before marriage is he may not enjoy it or the partner lacks experience which could possibly lead to bad sex.
After Tyrese & Rev. Run both share their experiences & provide their advice, there will be guest appearances from not only other celebrities but everyone who can relate & would like to share their experience as well. Last night’s guest were Jordin Sparks, newlyweds Brelyn & Tim Bowman and Marlon Wayans. Jordin & The Bowman agree with a lot of Rev. Run’s perspectives as Marlon agreed more so with Tyrese but also related to a few things Rev spoke on as well – & of course he brought the jokes.
In closing of last night’s show there was a little spoken word provided by Ernestine Johnson which left the crowd with a lot to think about – I know I did.
I really enjoyed watching It’s Not You, It’s Men last night. I think it opens up a lot of men & women’s eyes on things that they weren’t necessarily aware of before. Watching It’s Not You, It’s Men is a talk show that one can watch with friends, family & their significant other if they chose & engage in each topic amongst themselves or via Twitter with the hashtag, #ItsNotYouItsMen.
I look forward to hearing more from Tyrese & Rev. Run the rest of this season & further seasons. It’s Not You, It’s Men airs Saturdays at 9/8C on OWN.
