“Pretty b*tches I’m smashin…simple n*gga my fashion…just be fightin no flashin…by the way pardon my passion…(Milestones)”
Featured rapper Terrance Michael has finally released his first full solo mixtape, Nin3Seven: The Genesis. The tape is 13 tracks of pure heat. Just bars & passion. Reppin for Chicago & the connective Ninth Avenue, hailing from out West, but not in the same league with a lot of rappers coming up out of the city. It’s not bop, it’s not drill, although he gives drill a few nods, it’s moreso Hip Hop in general, with a strong Chicago influence.
At times with his speedy delivery you can be reminded of Twista, but it’s so true in authentic he is successful in taking his first steps in really establishing himself as an artist to watch. He makes you really lean in & listen to his lyrics, which are very much on point.
I couldn’t really pick out a favorite track, as they all flow so well together & make up a great collectives, but there are definitely some great moments while listening to the year. From his acapella freestyle to his tributes to the city to his solemn tribute to the fallen in the city & his re-up of Slow Jamz & Overnight Celebrity, he really creates some very memorable tracks. Definitely a good listen & an artist to watch.
