“We used to love…we used to love…we used to love…we used to love…how come you don’t answer when I call you on a Wednesday…when I hit you with a smile you frown, you never friendly…duck & dodge me, but I know you never really busy…”
Parkwood Entertainment’s sister act Chloe x Halle are back with a special gift for the fans entitled The Two Of Us. It is a mixtape & it is magical.
Having followed these two from young girls doing covers on Youtube, I, like many, am truly proud of the young women & artists that Chloe & Halle have become. The development of their voices, along with the emergence of their talents of creating music as a whole has been a wonderful thing to witness. Could not be more glad that Beyoncé has thrown her support & resources behind them. They have been glowing up in the best possible way. They finally came through with their first original EP Sugar Sympany last year & it was great. They showed early on that they not only could sing & harmonize, but also write & produce. They have leveled up on The Two Of Us. The project is only available to stream straight through on Youtube for the moment, but that works out just fine because it all flows together incredibly. The sounds & styles that the girls use on the project are not only imaginative & innovative, but also just incredibly good. The songs are about all kinds of subject matter that young ladies care for & yet it is done in a very mature way. There is plenty to bop to & the songs are so infectious that it will not take long at all for you to sing along. They talk about relationships & even hit directly at those who say their style is too complicated with a song called Simple. It is 25 minutes of awesome that go by entirely too quick. It is an incredible achievement & an exciting new chapter in their artistic journey. I have already gone through the project numerous times & only enjoy more & more each time I hear it. YIt makes me even more anxious for the ladies’ debut album.
