“Tell them this boy wasn’t meant for lovin…tell them this heart doesn’t stay to one…I’ll be the same, never change for nothin…It’s all I know, never learned much more…(Real Life)”
The Weeknd his just released his highly anticipated album Beauty Behind The Madness. For me, it’s not the great.
The Weeknd has been having great success with his singles this time out, which may have raised many expectations for the album. I was disappointed. In the past I’ve rather enjoyed The Weeknd’s special brand of haunting, melancholy records that are laced with sex. But the songs on the album didn’t really do anything for me. There are a couple of decent tracks on the album, but overall it just fell flat.
This time out The Weeknd is focusing more on his new lifestyle with the fame & the women. The songs have a different energy, not necessarily in a good way. The productions is a bit bigger & more dramatic. That’s not necessarily a good thing. Perhaps the album is a slow burn & it takes a few listens to catch on, but for now it’s a no for me.
Listen for yourself & decide if Beauty Behind The Madness is good or not. It is available everywhere. Check out the latest single Tell Your Friends below:
