“Baby you can be a movie star…in Los Angeles…get yourself a medical card…in Los Angeles…cuz that’s how California Rolls…they do their fingers like Redd Foxx…in Los Angeles…you can make it on the light blue box, yeah…in Los Angeles…cuz that’s how California Roll…”
Uncle Snoop is back with a new album called Bush. On this album, which is produced by Pharell, Snoop takes it back to a time nice, smooth records that people could both chill & jam to. It has real old school feel, featuring a lot of crooning from Snoop, Pharell, & Uncle Charlie Wilson.
The album flows together seamlessly. All you have to do is press play & just let the good times roll. It feels like late 70s/early 80s, soulful, Gap Band time music. Music your uncle 2 steps to at the grill with the spatula in one hand & a beer in the other. Great cookout music. Sometimes I wanted to 2 step, sometimes I wanted to skate. The whole time I was definitely feeling it.
The standouts for me featured some great collaborations. First of all we have California Roll, a great tribute to Cali featuring Pharell & the legendary Stevie Wonder. The next one is Run Away featuring Gwen Stefani, followed by I’m Ya Dogg featuring Kendrick Lamar & Rick Ross. This album takes place somewhere around cloud nine, where we all know Snoop has a second home, & I love it.
Definitely go get Bush & experience it for yourself. Check out the track California Roll below:
