“The sun don’t shine…when I’m alone…I lose my mind & I lose control…I see your eyes look through my soul…don’t be surprised…that’s all I know…(Congratulations)”
Mac Miller has just released his 3rd LP entitled The Divine Feminine. It is a free flowing, mystical ride through Mac’s idea of relationships.
The Divine Feminine doesn’t really sound like most of the music out, but Mac’s music usually doesn’t. He’s on a different ways. From his lyricism to the concepts he comes up with, he is able to create a vibe with his music that is a bit a relief from the norm. I was surprised to hear how easy & light the music it matches the subject matter perfectly. From the music it sounds like Mac is in love or at least very deep infatuation with someone. It’s not all about worship of women, it is somewhat about admiration of one though. Overall it’s a very breezy album, perfect for late Summer/early Fall. Besides being a mood, it boasts a list of nice collaborators. Though Ariana Grande is only listed on one track, she can be heard throughout the album (possibly because her current relationship with Mac has something to do with the mood of the LP). Also featured is Bilal, Anderson .Paak, Ty Dolla $ign, Njomza, CeeLo Green & Kendrick Lamar. It’s a nice little 10 track romp through loveland through the eyes of a man. I enjoy it.
The Divine Feminine is currently available everywhere. Check out the video for his single Dang! featuring Anderson .Paak below:
