“Tell me why one day seems so long…when you’re gone ain’t no sun…no waves in the ocean…what if I could just make you my job…I would be so devoted…I need a promotion…(Work From Home)”
Jordin Sparks has just released her new album Right Here Right Now. It is really good, start to finish.
Jordin gives a few different sounds throughout the album. From the turn up to the turn down. There are a couple of tracks that make you want to dance as soon as the beat comes in. There are a couple slow sexy songs that make you want to do a different kind of dance, if you know what I mean. There is also a definite transition in the end of one relationship & the beginning of another. There is a break up song, but also some love songs that make it clear that she is back in love.
There is a slight touch of Trap, particularly in the production. The title track in particular has a nice groove over a thumping beat. Then there’s the concluding track It Ain’t You that clearly addresses how male Hip Hop & R&B artists have been coming at the ladies, as well as the general guys in the club not worth your time. She even made a song about lurking on social media called Double Tap. The songs 11:11 & 100 Years have already been on repeat. The album features B.o.B., J. Doe, 2 Chainz, Shaggy, & Elijah Blake, as well as production from DJ Mustard.
The album is well-produced & well written. It is an overall great record. As of today it is available everywhere including iTunes. Make sure you listen to it.
