“I used to hear the voices through the thin walls…tension building up & I feel so small…some nights I’d hide under the pillows cuz I didn’t know what else to do…(Music.)”
JoJo is back her new album Mad Love. It’s been a long time coming, but it’s finally here.
It has been exactly 10 years since JoJo’s last full-length album release. Since then she has released 2 mixtapes & 3 EPs, but the wait for an official full release has been highly anticipated. For a while, she went through ssome difficulties with her label which prevented her from getting out her music, but thankfully that’s all over and Mad Love. is here. When JoJo initially appeared, she was a teenager singing soul-tinged pop songs. She is a grown woman now & from the material we can tell. She’s singing about life struggles, woman struggles, & relationship struggles. Sonically the album drifts through a few different sounds. It starts out acoustic & almost country before going into a more alternative/soul sound. She experiments with newer & more old school sounds while displaying the versatility of her rich, soulful vocals. There are songs for different moods & a good range of situations. Whether it’s you & your cuffing buddy, your friends, or just you on your on, JoJo has given you one. The album features Alessia Cara, Wiz Khalifa, & Remy Ma. I’m so glad that a new JoJo album is out & we get to witness the next step in her musical journey.
Mad Love. is available via iTunes & across all digital music streaming services & retailers. Check out the song Reckless. from the album below:
