“Kill Jay-Z…they’ll never love you…you’ll never be enough…let’s just keep it real Jay-Z…f*ck Jay-Z…I mean you shot your own brother how do we know if we can trust Jay-Z… (Kill Jay-Z)”
Jay-Z has just released his 13th album. What can I say? It’s full-blown Jay-Z at his finest.
The 4:44 billboards started popping up before we had any idea what was going on. Then a trailer starring Mahershala Ali & Lupita Nyong’o was released & it was said to be just a movie. Well a full length project was released, celebrated across the country at release parties at Sprint stores. For any who are fans of Jay, you are in pure bliss. It feels like Reasonable Doubt Jay-Z has come full circle. The production is incredible & Jay is as revealing as ever, talking about everything from Bey to Blue to his mother’s sexuality. He even addresses Lemonade a bit. It is only 10 tracks, but there is a lot of depth. The lyrics show why he is the first rapper in the Songwriter of the Year. The album features appearances his mother, Frank Ocean, Damian Marley, & even background vocals from Beyoncé. It’s an experience. There is a powerful animated video for The Story of OJ.
4:44 is a Tidal exclusive. Get it or miss out. Below are the links for the album & the video:
