“I live through my mistakes…it’s just a part of growin…and never for a single moment did I ever go without your love…you made me feel wanted…I wanna tell you how important you are to me…(Unbreakable)”
After many years of waiting, Janet Jackson is finally officially back. Today is the day she has released her album Unbreakable.
I was a bit nervous going in. It’s been a while & I was hoping I wouldn’t be disappointed. I definitely was not. She came through with a mix of vintage, but up to date Janet. She even sampled herself, there’s a part of I Get So Lonely in Dammn Baby. As always there are tracks to dance to, that you can’t wait to see her dance to, but there are some slowed down tracks as well. It’s true to the Janet Jackson sound & at times is even reminiscent of her big brother Michael, may he rest.
There were many nice elements working. Per usual it’s a long album, though missing the many interludes she typically likes. Honestly, it does trail off a bit towards the end, but for the most part I enjoy the record. The only features on the album are Missy Elliott & J. Cole.
