“It’s feeling great seeing my fears fade away…no more stressing about my future & coming in second place…my second plate where I lay it in will get ate…I need more cuz these portions I’m given ain’t…(Wake Up Call)”
Domani Harris has just released his full length project The Constellation. It is a very impressive work put together by the young rapper.
Plenty of people know Domani from his family & his family’s show, but for the last few years he has been putting in the work as an artist to establish himself in his own right. This is not the first project which Domani has put out, just last year he put out a 6 song EP called The Process which made some noise & laid the groundwork for The Constellation. One of the things that was most impressive to me about him off the rip was his style & flow. He has a very mature & dominant presence for such a young man. He is definitely repping the South & has a swagger very similar to his father, but his music is even more throwback than that. His production often features elements of old school Funk & Soul which match perfectly with his cool breeze style. It’s a feel good type of vibe & at no time did I think “He’s only doing this because he can”. Domani has a great deal of talent & his music is adding something very positive & refreshing. It’s not Trap rap, which is fine, but it’s just good to see a Hip Hop artist go in a direction other than what is popular. Domani is fully aware that people will look at him in terms of his father & addressed that head on in his song Last Name (Connecting). As soon as you go through it you’ll feel it & I know that I will be putting it in my playlist’s rotation. The album features appearances by London Jae & big sister Zonnique.
The Constellation is currently available all over so listen & support. Check out the single Paris featuring London Jae below:
