This past Tuesday, Teyana Taylor dropped her debut album, “VII”. It is a great album that is a must have.
Teyana has been around for quite some time. Once she joined G.O.O.D. music I began to look forward to her music. Her recent single, “Maybe” has been playing all over the radio & is a great bop, much like her album.
Her album VII is a great collection of music. It puts me in the mind of Brandy & other great r&b women from the 90s. It’s an all purpose album you can clean to, ride to, or cuddle up with bae to. It has some great slow jams, some nice tracks to 2 step to, some love songs & a ballad. It features Chris Brown, Fabolous, Pusha T, & Yo Gotti. It puts me in the mind of “What’s The 411” with it’s personal touches & feel good tracks.
My favorite songs from the album are “Outta My League”, which is the second single, “Sorry”, “Request”, “Put Your Love On”, which has a nice dance hall kind of vibe you can wind to, & “Do Not Disturb” featuring Chris Brown. I have been playing the album all week & each day my favorite song has changed. Teyana has a beautiful voice. It’s really good music & very good R&B. Definitely one of my favorite albums of the year.
Below is the video for the first single Maybe. There are other snippets from the album on her Vevo. Do yourself a favor & go to iTunes, Google Play, or wherever & buy this album.
