Moor Insight TV is back with another question for the people, does welfare hurt the black community?
I’ve actually had this decision a few times before with a few people. I truly understand that it’s hard out here in the world. Employment is very scarce with & without a degree – trust me I know, so many people have no other choice but to rely on welfare such as public housing, food stamps & etc. There’s nothing wrong with that at all & to be honest it is nothing to be ashamed of if you have any of it. The thing that gets to me is when people don’t try to better themselves & their living conditions.
There’s a lot of people who receive welfare & do absolutely nothing for a living & not even trying to do anything. To my understanding, welfare was created to assist anyone who is having difficulties seeking employment, but there are people out here who haven’t even attempted to seek any type of employment – ever! They’re content with receiving government assistance every month to take care of them.
I’m a firm believer of not settling for less & NEVER giving up. Don’t just sit around with your hand out depending on anyone but yourself to make things happen for you. But as I stated before, if you’re in need of any assistance, by all means receive the assistance that you & your family need but if you’re just sitting around thinking that welfare is a job within itself then I advise you to get up & at least do something proactive.
But to answer the initial question, I do not believe welfare is hurting the black community due to the fact that there’s plenty of communities who also utilize welfare as well – not just blacks. And there’s a lot of families within the black communities who truly need the assistance of welfare due to the income that comes in their home, disabilities & etc.
What you think? Talk Ish!
