By now, I’m sure you’ve been seeing tons of videos on social media where there’s no movement what so ever. Don’t be alarm, you’re video isn’t frozen & you’re Instagram isn’t missing up – at least not this particular time. There’s a new challenge that everyone seems to be participating in called the #MannequinChallenge. Just like the mannequins we see displayed in the front windows of department stores advertising clothing & accessories, it seems everyone is doing there best mannequin impression all over social media. Here’s basically what the #MannequinChallenge consist of: A group of individuals interacting with one another & coming to a complete stand-still, like a mannequin during the mist of all the fun & excitement.
Similar to the game “Mr. Freeze” when you run and/or play until someone yells, “FREEZE” – you do just that, you freeze until the game resume. It’s actually a pretty cool challenge if you ask me. No one is putting themselves in any danger or harms way – hopefully it remains like that. I’ve seen students complete the #MannequinChallenge while in classrooms, hallways, lunchrooms & etc. where pretend fights are made up, interacting with one another & etc. The more people involved, the better. The best ones I’ve seen thus far was Penn State football team celebrating their win in the locker room, Rae Sremmurd live in concert, DC Young Fly, DeRay Davis & Michael Blackson performing at Syracuse University, the entire Waffle House & it’s a few more that’s really entertaining.
Everyone can participate in the #MannequinChallenge just get a group of people together, turn on Rae Sremmurd’s Black Beatles for a little inspiration & it actually goes along with the challenge & become a mannequin for a few seconds or even an entire minute. Depending on you & your fellow mannequins.
Below are a few of my favorite #MannequinChallenges that you can also find on Instagram & Twitter.
