So tonight was the night that Love and Hip Hop New York made its return. It came back with quite a bang, though a familiar bang. But we’ll get to that in a minute.
I didn’t really watch the last season at all. I didn’t really care for it. I watched the episode with Mandeecees proposing and I think the last one when he surrendered himself. There wasn’t anything there that I thought was interesting.
This season, however, Mona has turned up the heat. Though, a heat we know from the Atlanta installment. So basically Peter Gunz is Stevie J the New York edition. That whole situation with having a girl for years and years with kids, but then getting with the artist you’re managing. It’s pretty much the exact same thing. The realest difference is obviously the bomb that Amina, his artist and former member of Black Buddafly, dropped. She and Peter at some point apparently got married and being the genius that she is she got the Mrs. Pankey tattoo to prove it.
Sis… where do I even begin? First of all, sis, a man does not have to stay in the house with the mother of his children to be a father. A family is many things. It’s not an excuse to be going back and forth between you and the mother of his children. You married someone who you knew was in a 13 year relationship with 2 kids and still living and being with her, and yet you expected this to end well. I don’t know what part of the game you learned in Germany that made you thing 1 + 1= 6, but I’m gonna have to urge you to reconsider.
That’s pretty much going to be what people tune in to watch. Joe and Tahiry are trying it again, but considering how Tahiry has made it clear through Instagram and Twitter that they’re not still together, we already know where that ends. Erica’s a lesbian, which I really don’t care about. That whole story line with her Rich can go. I know that other rapper dude by face, and I’m sure his name will eventually come to me, but that drama with him and his baby mama pretty much looks like a Scrappy and Erica reboot, except much worse. The damn girl’s name is even Erica. Then there’s the Yandy/Mandeecees storyline which is kinda interesting, but mostly sad. And there’s really no telling where K. Michelle is gonna fit in. She’ll probably be arguing, but she’s not even supposed to be on there that much so, I don’t know.
As unoriginal as the drama kind of is, that married to the side chick twist has me. It’s unfortunate, but I’ll be watching weekly. That damn evil genius Mona! If you missed it, I’m sure it’ll be back on soon. And see you all next Monday at 8/7c for more.
