We had the privilege to meet actress and comedian, Kym Whitley at the Black Women’s Expo right here in Chicago. Kym was very kind, generous and humble to all her supporters that visited her booth station where she and her team were selling and advertising her new line of clothing called Don’t Feed Me. What we found fascinating about Don’t Feed Me, was the message behind the saying.
Don’t Feed Me was intended to save the lives of children. There’s a lot of children who are allegeric to certain products and many people are unaware of their allergens which could put a child’s life in danger especially if they’re supervising that child at an event such as a school function, birthday party, picnic, and etc. Kym came up with the idea of Don’t Feed Me after coming to the realization that her toddler son, Joshua was allegeric to several food products.
Don’t Feed Me shirts for children consist of categories such as peanuts, gluten, corn, strawberry, eggs, dairy, soy, milk, wheat, shellfish and four additional boxes where you can fill in what you do not want your child to be fed. Kym also created a different categories for adults such as carbs, lies, sugar, bullsh*t, alcohol, exercise, negativity, fried foods that we found to be hilarious and of course there’s the additional boxes where you can fill in anything that you don’t want to be fed. Kym added “Married Men” to her shirt, so I decided to add “Ish” to mine. It was the appropriate thing to do, right? Lol.
