Last night we went out to Del Toro restaurant for the KC Power Pitch 2: Entrepreneur Elevator Pitch Competition event. It was a great opportunity to network & polish the skills necessary to be successful in business. The event & organization was put together by our featured entrepreneur Kandi Conda aka KC.
The evening began with a mixer, where we enjoyed some food, drinks, conversation, along with a game of KC Power Player Bingo. Then we received a great deal of knowledge from comedienne/publicist Tam Lawrence, who discussed the difference between marketing & public relations. She gave a very inspirational talk highlighting the importance of appreciating your story & not giving up.
Following the talk came the pitch competition, judged by KC, WGCI personality, actress & Lip Station owner Demi Lobo, & Terrance Leftridge. The competition was for a cash prize. There were pitches by entrepreneurs such as featured actor Harold Dennis, Darlene Tate, & yours truly, the ladies of Can I Talk My Ish. In spite of the great pitches given by all, we came out victorious.
This was just one of the many great events given as a part of the KC Power Player organization. Go to kcpowerplayers.com for more information.
