Yesterday was the Heineken Sun-Day Break with Kid Capri & Talib Kweli. If you were not at Chop Shop yesterday afternoon you definitely missed out on an amazing event. The most turned up day party we have ever attended went down with some awesome DJing & performances. It was lit.
The Red Star Access Sun-Day Break was brought to us by Heineken & produced by Juan And Only Events Inc. It was definitely worth attending. People were buying their Heinekens & settling in for a good time.
The night was hosted by Mark Fuller & started out with a DJ set from DJ Jermaine. Then Talib Kweli came out on the ones & twos & had the whole place dancing. He spun a lot of Hip Hop & Soul & had the whole place rocking.
DJ Jermaine, repping Chicago to the fullest, came back out & brought out surprise guest MC Lyte. Lyte performed her part of Self Destruction, along with classic hits Cha Cha Cha & Lyte As A Rock. She also spoke about her latest album Legend, on which she collaborates with artists like Common, Lil Mama & many more. She then went up to the rooftop to sign autographs & take pics.
DJ Jermaine came back with some house music to keep the crowd going. After that Talib Kweli took to the stage again, this time to perform. He brought out Chicago’s very own, K’ Valentine, who the crowd was definitely feeling. After some more bopping along to sounds from Mark Fuller, DJ Kid Capri came out & sent the event to a fever pitch.
Heineken also brought out Chef Gabriel Miranda was upstairs in VIP with a taco bar. Decadent Flavor was on the rooftop giving samples of delicious donuts which they were making fresh on location. It was an overall exceptional experience. For other info search #HKNAccess.
