Like a lot of people I jumped on Vine in its few days of glory. I really just got on because people were laughing at the videos on my timeline and I wanted to see them. Well, then Instavid came and said, “Nope!” Just like that Vine stopped being as popular.
Still there are people who continue to get on Vine. Personally, I like the 6 second aspect. It’s less time so you have to be a bit more creative. Besides, I didn’t really want to see “Instagram models” taking their antics to video.
The biggest reason I still log onto Vine is Erykah Badu. I love, love, love her videos. I love, love, love Erykah in general and she brings it all to Vine. It’s like her own little series.
Her videos are everything from miniature movies with great effects, her interacting through puppets, which are hilarious, her just acting crazy, and home videos with her 3 kids. The whole experience of her videos is just dope. They always make me feel better. I laugh and am touched by the beautiful videos of her kids playing in the rain, having their heights measured against the wall, and pillow fighting.
I love them so much I had to share it with you all. We all sit and mess around on the internet constantly looking for some kind of entertainment, some kind of distraction. Well Erykah’s videos are one of those happy distractions and just plain beautiful art I think people should get into.
Unfortunately, I can’t post any, but slide over to Vine, search manuela maria mexico, and get your life. Below are some stills from some of my fave videos.
