May of last year, we were fortunate enough to feature Rap Artist, ScribeCash. Since our last conversation with ScribeCash, she is currently headlining her own tour, released a new project & new music. Lets follow-up with ScribeCash…
3 Voices: It’s been about a year since we last spoke with you. For those who didn’t catch her first interview with you, reintroduce yourself to the world. Let the people know who you are & what you do.
ScribeCash: It’s yo girl ScribeCash. I’m a female MC, songwriter, and director. Recently, I just had a song out with Eric Bellinger called “Get On My Level”. One of the songs I believe what we talked about last time [ is my single] called “Never Breaking Up” featuring TreVante and that was featured on 106 & Park along with the video with Eric Bellinger.
3 Voices: We noticed that you have been touring a lot. You’ve been pretty much everywhere. You’re currently a part of a tour. Can you tell us a little about that?
ScribeCash: Yeah…currently headlining my first tour called, Dreams Don’t Sleep Tour. Right now, we just did our first show in Corona. Up next, we’re doing our second show in Riverside, California.
3 Voices: How many cities can the people expect for you to perform in? Is it just going to be for a season?
ScribeCash: [It’s] definitely going to be a continuous thing…right now, we’re starting off with locally like I said, in California which is where I’m from. So we’re starting off there and we’re going to expand it throughout the year.
3 Voices: Besides the tour, we also seen that you have been touring and do a lot of major things.
ScribeCash: Yeah, something like that. I mean I’ve been blessed to open up for some pretty amazing artists like Mindless Behavior, Eric Bellinger…Kid Ink at one point. And the lists keeps on going.
3 Voices: Which city would you say has shown you the most loved when you during your performances?
ScribeCash: Umm, it would probably be a tie between when I headline, actually at the Hard Rock Live on the strip of Las Vegas…that was awesome! The crowd was super turnt. And then…Mindless Behavior though. That show was amazing. That was out in Ontario, California. It was about 3,000 -4,000 people there and the crowd was just amazing. It was just a classic because it was almost right after the Never Breaking Up video dropped and just to hear the crowd know the words to my song was just a great feeling.
3 Voices: Tell us about your lastest projects.
ScribeCash: Yeah, I actually dropped this project called, Insomnia Reloaded. The most recent single off that was Get On My Level with Eric Bellinger. Now we have White On White featuring Issa which was something new to me. I actually sang on the track and rapped on the track. So I love it. The whole concept behind it was just the fact that my dad noticed that I typically wear white when I’m on the stage, so I’m like why not make it into a song and make it almost somatic.
3 Voices: That’s interesting. Is there a specific you wear white when performing?
ScribeCash: Honestly, I just love wearing all white. I just feel like that’s something that a lot of people don’t do. And I started doing it, and it just became my thing. So there’s no true meaning behind it but I just like it, my fans like it, and I just stuck with it.
3 Voices: Can we actually expect a visual for your latest single?
ScribeCash: White On White? You might be able to catch something, definitely by the end of the year…I will say that much. We’ll have a music video for that. I just want it to be something super dope and original as usual. That’s always my goal.
3 Voices: Definitely. At this point, if given the opportunity to work with any three music artists, who you haven’t worked with thus far, who would they be?
ScribeCash: Beyonce, Lauryn Hill and Kendrick Lamar. Hands down! Like Beyonce…there’s no other female performer like her, that can kill the stage just like her. I love Kendrick Lamar and Lauryn Hill because of their originality. Lauryn Hill is my favorite female MC. And Kendrick Lamar is definitely my favorite male MC as of right now.
3 Voices: Can you tell us a little about your role as a director?
ScribeCash: So the first official video that I directed was Get On My Level featuring Eric Bellinger. I created the concept…the treatment, as far as picking the angles, the shots and then actual editing too. Choosing which final angles make the cut. Ultimately, I always been into directing because I always been a fan of movies, music videos and I’m a very visual person. So to me, I was just like okay I know exactly what I want so why not do it yourself. And why not go in and direct it. It’s a blessing to be able to have a team that allows me to do that and a team that directed one of the biggest music videos yet.
3 Voices: What’s next for you? Are there any exclusives you can share with us?
ScribeCash: Umm, I would have to say what’s next for me is a lot more music, a lot more performances and just more content. Just to be more content and always staying connected with my fans. So worse case scenarios, the best bet to keep up with me to follow me on Twitter & Instagram @therealscribe. And also download my free app that’s available on the iTunes App Store and Google Play.
