He has already created visuals for several of Chicago artists and recently recorded a interview with Young Scooter and Lil Mouse. Lets get to know Sean Pain…
3 Voices: Introduce yourself to the world. Let the people know who Sean Pain is and what Sean does.
Sean Pain: Greetings everyone, and thanks for having me. Sean Pain is a 25 year old Chicago resident originally from the Westside of Chicago. Recently, I have been shooting and editing a lot of music videos and doing other video work for different artists in the city. At the moment I’m just working on building my brand and getting more exposure.
3 Voices: What inspired you to become a videographer? What inspired you to create A Sean Pain Film?
Sean Pain: I’ve always been intrigued by visual art. When I was a kid I was always looking at pictures and just really into all types of creative art forms. I’ve been taking pictures and filming different projects my entire life but I started the business a year ago when I bought my first camera. I saw artist like “Lil B” and “Soulja Boy” making videos and putting them online. I thought the entire concept of it was cool. I had a few friends who were making music in my neighborhood, so I decided to research what editing software and materials I needed. I shot my first video with an artist named DS The Hittmann. Ever since then I’ve just been working.
3 Voices: What’s the most challenging part of being a videographer? What’s the best part of being of a videographer?
Sean Pain: The most challenging part is probably getting your brand out there to get business. You have to do a lot of networking and promoting to get yourself known. Sometimes it can be very time consuming. I think the best part of being a videographer is sending the finished video link to an artist or an individual and hear them say “Love it!” A lot of times I’m not sure if people will like the work so I get kind of nervous but a lot of people have been liking the product I’ve been putting out. I’m just happy I could help build their movements and mine.
3 Voices: You’ve worked with a lot of different people from Chicago already. If you had the opportunity to videograph or complete a photo shoot for anybody, dead or alive, who would Sean Pain like to work with?
Sean Pain: Well My heroes are Michael Jackson, 2pac, and Young Jeezy. So, I would’ve loved to be on the scenes watching their work ethic and how they carried their selves. As far as artist today, I really like Lil B, I feel he is very creative. I like Chief Keef, the whole GBE roster, Lil Herb, Lil Mouse, and Katie Got Bandz.
3 Voices: What’s next for Sean Pain? Are there any exclusives you can share with us?
Sean Pain: A lot of the stuff I’m working on today I can’t really give out because I’m not sure if the artists are ready to give out that info. I can say that I’m going to put some new elements into the world of videography as far as the music video game. I want to bring some more movie elements to it as well as making the videos more interactive with the music. Every sound should trigger an effect. Aside from that I just want to work and gain more fans. I want the world to know where I came from and my struggle as well as the artists I work with, so that’s what’s next for me.
