We were fortunate enough to talk ish with Rap Artist…ScribeCash!!! ScribeCash is on the road to being the next female rap artist to dominate the music industry. ScribeCash has already had her music video for her single, Never Giving Up premiere on BET’s 106 & Park. ScribeCash will also be opening up for Mindless Behavior on May 24th along with Jacob Latimore. Let’s get to know ScribeCash…
3 Voices: Introduce yourself to the world. Let the people know who ScribeCash is and what ScribeCash does.
ScribeCash: I’m ScribeCash and I’m an 18 year old female emcee, songwriter, radio host, and director.
3 Voices: What inspired you to become a rap artist? Who are some rap artists that influenced you to pursue a rap career? How long have you been rapping?
ScribeCash: Music in general inspired me to become a rap artist. I fell in love with music from a very young age and I just needed a way to express myself. Ultimately, for me, there will never be another female emcee quite like Lauryn Hill, and she’s definitely the rapper that inspires me the most. I started rapping two years ago after I attended the 2011 BET Awards. I was sitting way up top in the balcony, and I will never forget the moment I saw Kelly Rowland perform “Motivation”. Towards the end of her performance she dropped to her knees, and in that moment, I was so inspired that I told myself “I can do that, that could be up on that stage in a few years.” A few weeks later I recorded my first song, and on April 3rd, 2014 my music video “Never breaking Up” premiered on BET.
3 Voices: How would you describe your music? What’s make ScribeCash stand out from other artists?
ScribeCash: I would describe my music as being highly eclectic, I don’t like to categorize it because it all depends on how I feel when I write each and every song. One second I might write something to a beat with an old school 90’s vibe, and tomorrow I might make a song to an edm beat, I truly never know. I think what separates me the most from other artist is the fact that I’m young, I write all of my own music, and my music is 100% clean. Generally speaking by having clean music I can reach a broader audience, and there can be no boundaries to where my music can take me. I take the ultimate pride in the fact that I write all of my music, because it means that the power is completely at my fingertips. I can change my style or my flow at any moment, and no one can expect it coming. Last but not least being young means that time is on my side. I have so much room left to grow, and because I’m starting at a younger age then most rappers, I don’t have to rush or hurry, I can take my time and develop into an amazing artist.
3 Voices: Tell us about your latest single, “Never Breaking Up.” How did that single come about?
ScribeCash: “Never Breaking Up” was inspired by real thoughts and real emotions. I wanted to write a song that described my Cinderella story. “Never Breaking Up” is a vivid description of what I want in a relationship and in a man. The music video just tops it all off. Between the cars, TreVante, and the fashion, it just simply doesn’t get any better.
3 Voices: You have an upcoming show, May 24th that features Mindless Behavior. Can we expect a upcoming single featuring Mindless Behavior in the near future? Who else in the music industry would you like to would to work with?
ScribeCash: I would love to collaborate with Mindless Behavior in the future, but as of right now I’m just going to be opening up for them on May 24th. In the perfect world, I would get a chance to collaborate with Beyonce, Lauryn Hill, Erykah Badu, Drake, Kendrick Lamar, Pharell, Mike Will Made It, Frank Ocean, The Weeknd, Eric Bellinger, Alicia Keys, Timberland, and Dre. Dre all on my first album!
3 Voices: What’s next for ScribeCash? Are there any exclusives that you can share with us?
ScribeCash: This summer I should be dropping another single and a music video. I will also be headlining a show on June 22nd at the legendary Whiskey A Go Go in West Hollywood, and hopefully I will be dropping an EP right on time for school to start in the fall.
3 Voices: How can the people reach ScribeCash on social media sites such as Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and etc.?
