We were fortunate enough to talk ish with Rap Artist…Lucchi!!! Lucchi is an aspiring rap artist who’s determine to successful. Listening to his latest freestyle, Hunger Games, it’s quite obvious that Lucchi has not and will not allow anything or anyone stop him from reaching the top. Lets get to know Lucchi…
3 Voices: Introduce yourself to the world. Let the people know who Lucchi is and what Lucchi does.
Lucchi: Well, I’m human, regular guy from the ghettos of Canton, Ohio and Athens, Alabama trying to do what I love for a living. I am an artist in every sense of the word and I’m sensitive about my shit lol.
3 Voices: What inspired you to become an artist? Who are some artists that influenced your music career?
Lucchi: It was something I took a liking to at an early age. I would perform Michael Jackson’s music videos in front of my family and I used to get into trouble a lot so my older sister would take everything tv, games, radios…all I could have was paper and pencils. Sometimes I wrote how angry I was and other times I’d write a well-rounded apology note to get my stuff back. Performance wise…I [would] credit Michael Jackson and song wise I’d say Biggie Smalls, TIP, Lil Wayne, and Kanye West.
3 Voices: What makes Lucchi stands out from other rap artist? What are some things you rap about in your music?
Lucchi: To me…I stand out because I’m being myself. There is only one me. I feel as long as I stay true to that then I have my own lane. When I rap, I stick to what I know and what I’ve seen. My music comes from places of conversations and current feelings as well.
3 Voices: If you’re given the opportunity to work with any three artists, who would those three artists be? And why?
Lucchi: Besides me being a fan of their music, I’d work with Kanye West to soak up as much creativity as possible. Lil Wayne to feed off of his work ethic and apply that to myself more…and Jeezy so I can get that street knowledge and advice on moving from hood to hood because I want to be that cat that can be myself and get love from my people in the gutta. All these rappers don’t get love or can’t step foot in these areas around the world.
3 Voices: Tell us about your latest freestyle, Hunger Games. Can the people expect a visual for Hunger Games?
Lucchi: Hunger Games was one of those freestyles I felt I had to get off my chest. One of my best friends growing up was murdered…RIP Lil Kenny. I felt like my city forgot about what I contributed to our local scene when I moved to ATL…I felt people in ATL we’re trying to change my music to something trendy. Just a lot of stuff I was going through that I expressed in this freestyle and I’m definitely going to get a visual shot for it when all my pieces I’m building fall together.
3 Voices: What’s next for you? Are there any exclusives that you can share with us?
Lucchi: Becoming a business and having business minded individuals in my circle. I’ve probably failed and lost more money than most artist and now is all about cutting the dead weight, accept what I did wrong and put in the work to educate and correct myself so those things never happen again. And I can give you the title for my next body of work, Hunger Pains. The meaning behind it is pretty self-explanatory but I’m at a place where I’m still hungry to make this my career but at the same time I’m at that stage where it’s I gotta eat now or die trying. And I’m gonna display those feelings and events that take place during this time period of getting it now because there ain’t no tomorrow.
