We were fortunate enough to talk ish with Rap Artist…Jo’Rodeo!!! Jo’Rodeo is a rap artist from Chicago that has made a buzz in the music scene, but this year he will be making an even louder noise all around the world. Today, Jo’Rodeo has officially released his single, “Billy” that’s expected to be featured on his upcoming mixtape, “Rodeo vs. Rodie”. “A billion dollars..A billion dollars…A billion dollars…A billion dollars…I need me a billion dollars…”Let get to know Jo’Rodeo…
3 Voices: Introduce yourself to the world. Let the people know who Jo’Rodeo is and what Jo’Rodeo does.
Jo’Rodeo: What’s going on world? It’s your boy Jo’Rodeo…I’m an artist. I entertain as well. I love doing music and I love to turn up!
3 Voices: What inspired you to become an artist?
Jo’Rodeo: My mom has been a singer basically her [whole] life. So basically it was inside my blood…it was just the timing. I guess once Chicago got really hot as far the music scene, I decided to take a chance and it actually kind of worked out for me.
3 Voices: Who are some artists that influenced your music artist?
Jo’Rodeo: Growing up I use to listen to Too Short, Slick Rick, Yo Gotti, Jeezy, Wiz Khalia…artists like those play a role as far as my career that I actually watch and keep an eye contact on. [I] watch their blogs, see their movement.
3 Voices: You have worked with quite a few well-known artists such as Snootie Wild, Tink, Free Band Casino, Lil Mouse and Lil Durk. If given the opportunity to work with any three artists, who would those three individuals consist of?
Jo’Rodeo: Jay Z…I would love to work with Jay Z. Too Short of course. He’s a legend in my eyes. And probably 50 cent just because he’s smart. I would actually just love to sit down and have a conversation with him [just] to feed off him.
3 Voices: Tell us about your upcoming mixtape “Rodeo vs. Rodie”.
Jo’Rodeo: Yeah, we actually got the mixtape dropping. We got the Billy single dropping January 28th, mixer called Rodeo vs. Rodie probably have about 13 tracks on there all produced by Rio Mack and a song produced by Chase Davis. It’s very highly anticipated…like a lot of people have been waiting on this mixtape. I actually been working on it for about 2 years now. The people should love it.
3 Voices: Are there any features the people can expect from “Rodeo vs. Rodie”?
Jo’Rodeo: Yeah, I actually got features from Snootie Wild, Free Band Casino, Lil Mouse… a few people like that.
3 Voices: What’s your favorite single from “Rodeo vs. Rodie”?
Jo’Rodeo: Oh man…I actually like all my songs on the mixtape. I’m like a junkie, I just like all of them. But if I had to say a favorite song, I would have to say “Main Discussion” right now. It’s a song called Main Discussion produced by Rio Mack. It’s different, I tried something different as far as voice wise, swag wise, word wise…you know. I just stepped out the box and tried something different. I like it a lot just because of that one reason.
3 Voices: What is the next single that the people expect a vision from?
Jo’Rodeo: We’re actually going to have Billy ready, that’s my single dropping January 28th. And then Movie, that will be the next single to drop on WorldStar…I’m going to do that on Valentine’s Day so we have Billy then Movie for Valentine’s Day.
3 Voices: It has been brought to our attention that your long-term goal is to become an entrepreneur and give back to the community. Tell us a little about your goals and ideas.
Jo’Rodeo: I would really just like to clean up our city. I don’t want to just be the [one] blog sites and cameras rolling with just me. Yeah, I love Chicago and trying to do things but I want to actually be in the streets and help these people the best way that I can. I want people to like me for me and not just because I rap. I want them to be like “man, I like that kid. He actually helps the community. He actually cares about people, where we live and how our kids are doing.” I want to be known as that from the people and I’m going to use rapping as a pedestal.
3 Voices: What’s next for you? Are there any exclusives you can share with us?
Jo’Rodeo: Well…can’t really share anything right now, you guys will just have to tune in and just follow the Zo Ent. Rodeo movement. I can say one thing, it’s about to get really real for 2015. I just hope the people are ready.
3 Voices: How can the people reach out to you on social media sites such as Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and etc.?
Jo’Rodeo: They can reach me on my Twitter and Instagram @joerodeo_bboy and I also have a EPK website at www.zoentjorodeo.com. I do have three tracks on there that you can’t find anywhere else but there.
