3 Voices: For those who do not know let them know who Jeffery L. Hawkins is & about Llewellyn. *brand’s name is just Llewellyn*
Jeffery: I like romantic short walks on the beach, jewelry, great masks meals, no no I kid. I’d describe myself as a person who loves the art of beauty. Fashion for me is more than beautiful clothing it’s about the craftsmanship.
Llewellyn is considered contemporary men’s’ and women’s wear design company. Llewellyn’s founding principal is to help a consumer feel empowered to be their best self by being dressed impeccably.
We create seasonal collections and custom pieces. Our couture details such as beading, Swarovski elements and hand embroidery are trademarks of the brand. Usage of bold prints, luxurious fabrics and custom details are signature to a LLEWELLYN garment.
3 Voices: How did you get started? What led to the founding of Llewellyn?
Jeffery: Becoming a fashion designer was ultimately a culmination of my love for storytelling and my attention to detail. Being an avid reader with a strong imagination the clothing of the characters always helped tell the story and set a tone for a passage. In my designing my goal is for the Llewellyn consumer to tell a story through their attire. Clothes are more than fabric sewn together to provide covering over the form. They dictate social perception and insight various emotions.
I begin my journey learning to sketch and make doll clothes. From there it went to learning to sketch better and studying fashion 24/7. Then learning to sew, pattern draft and now to the present still learning.
3 Voices: Who are some of your style inspirations & fashion heroes?
Jeffery: My style integrations inspirations range from the everyday stylish or visually interesting people I see to celebrities and the fashion community.
