We were fortunate enough to ish to talk ish with…Tavious Peters!!! Tavious has been a part of movies and television shows such as Madea’s Witness Protection, For Better or Worse, Being Mary Jane, The Game and so much more. Tavious is on the road to being considered one of the best known actors on a movie screen. Let’s get to know Tavious Peters…
3 Voices: For those who may not know, let the people know who Tavious Peters is and what Tavious Peters does.
Tavious Peters: I’m an actor…I’m a model…I’m a child of God. I also sing and dance on the side. I’m in the process of perfecting my craft on that as well. I’m just an all around fun guy that is on a journey to becoming a successful actor.
3 Voices: What inspired you to become an actor? When did you decide that you wanted to become an actor?
Tavious Peters: I’ve always loved mimicking people and being an entertainer since I was a toddler. I love tension as well so this just helps the process of becoming an actor lol. I decided my freshmen year in college to start pursuing acting as a career really because I’ve always wanted to do it but I come from a family of school and military, so I didn’t want to disappoint them but after finding myself in college, I decided to go after my dreams and have been doing that for the past 3 years.
3 Voices: What inspired you to become a model? Do you find modeling more challenging than acting or acting more challenging than modeling?
Tavious Peters: I’ve always loved being in front of the camera so it’s kind of natural for me. Never really had inspiration, I have information now from different models but it’s kinda like I was born to do it. Modeling and acting are both challenging in their own way, I would say acting is a bit more challenging than modeling just because of preparation for certain roles that you get especially a role that you have no connection with. Both require a lot of work but the benefits will be priceless.
3 Voices: We see that you’ve worked with a powerful duo, Salim and Mara Brock –Akil (Akil Productions), who both has done amazing things as a writer and filmmaker. What has that experience been like? What is some advice that they have given you as an actor that you would like to share?
Tavious Peters: The Akils are amazing, talented and humble people! I love being around them and I’ve learned so much from them. I always brag on them because of just what they have accomplished this far. Salim is an amazing director and knows what he wants and gets it! Mara is a beautiful, talented producer and writer, we all can say that from the television shows, Girlfriends, The Game, and her new show starring Gabrielle Union, Being Mary Jane. Hey G! Great people to work with, glad I could say I have and I’m hoping for the future to work with them again. Salim and Mara both give great advice, they always say do what feels right and in the acting world that goes a long way.
3 Voices: We recently noticed you as portraying an injured Malik Wright in a music video on the television series, The Game. What was it like working with the cast? Will we see more of the “Malik Look Alike”?
Tavious Peters: The cast of The Game are amazing! You always laugh, have fun, and you can learn so much from all the talented actors. Not sure if you will see more of the Malik Look Alike, I’d love it but ready to work with Salim and Mara again.
3 Voices: What’s next for Tavious Peters? Are there any exclusives that you can share with us?
Tavious Peters: Just working on getting an agent, my next role and building my brand as an actor also going to LA this summer to network and get ready for that move to the west coast.
