Tuesday, Nicole Vaughn, Sandra Streeter & everyone involved with the We R Englewood movement partnered with Bridging The Gap & Not Before My Parents to host the annual Community Thanksgiving Dinner at Ogden Park. Families who live in the Englewood community were served a true Thanksgiving feast that consisted of Mac & Cheese, Turkey, Ham, Dressing (or Stuffing, whichever you prefer), Greens, Candied Yams & so much more. So much food was prepared that everyone was able to enjoy a second plate & even take a plate home for later.
As everyone sat around mingling & eating, DJ Kevin C spun a few records before Gifted Keys & The Funky Flowers took the stage to perform live & interact with the crowd – & they enjoyed every bit of it. There was also a section where chess was being played & taught. The entire room was filled with so much excitement & love as the community came together to celebrate Thanksgiving. And before everyone departed, Turkeys were passed out along with Whole Foods gift cards.
We have to commend Nicole Vaughn & Sandra Streeter for everything they continuously do for Englewood. A special thanks to Kiwi’s Boutique owner Chiquita White, Celebrity Stylist Jennifer Nashae, Build On, ConneXion Electrical and Business Solutions, Bridging The Gap, Not Before My Parents, Cortri Trotter Productions & every person, business & organization for their generous contribution & services provided to make the Community Thanksgiving Dinner a success.
