Yesterday afternoon we went out to Cocktails With Claire Featuring Miss Diddy LA & The Bomb Life down in the South Loop. It was a very fun & informative event.
The event featured vendors from various aspects of the fashion industry such as Kiwi’s Boutique, Pear Nova, Meow and Barks Boutique, Vanorsby & 41 South Vintage. The newest Camry was on display from sponsor Toyota. Another sponsor Hennessy served up some tasty cocktails. As all filed in, we were able to enjoy these drinks as we readied ourselves for the panel.
The panel was curated by Fashion Bomb Daily’s Claire Sulmers aka @clairesulmers & Miss Diddy LA aka @missdiddyla who participated in the panel with Taraji P. Henson’s Empire makeup artist Ashunta Sheriff aka @ashuntasheriff, WGCI’s Kendra G. aka @kendragmedia, and Former NBA player & fashion man Bobby Simmons aka @dluxchicago. They offered great advice & let people in on their stories & some of their keys to success. They also talked about the hard work behind the glamour, networking, advice to their younger selves, the importance of saving money, not accepting who people tell you you are, budgeting, the merits of staying in Chicago – which Ashunta believes has next and finding balance between work & personal. They dropped many nuggets of wisdom to inspire people to reach that next level.
Following the panel, folks were able to mingle with the panelists, continue to enjoy drinks, shop, & enjoy the music courtesy of The Beautiful Beat, owned by MJ Jones. The party went on, including some food & giveaways for the boldest looks at the event.
It was overall an incredible event. Part of the proceeds went to Cure Violence, a great organization to help curb violence across the country. Thank you to Fashion Bomb Daily, Claire Sulmers, & Miss Diddy LA for bringing this event to Chicago. We would also like to thank the panelists for their words of wisdom. Special thanks to Catrice Armstrong & the sponsors Toyota, Hennessey, & Curls. Make sure you all check out fashionbombdaily.com.
