Last Thursday at the Harold Washington Cultural Center, H3 Entertainment & GoSityEnt presented the Chicago Music Industry Panel & Indie Artist Showcase. It was a great night of networking & great performances.
The night began with a panel of industry insiders from around Chicago. The panel included ourselves, Poonie from Zo Entertainment, DJ Amaris, DJ TJ Da Don, producer Hearon Trackz, & Tony Rudd of Foxtail Magazine, founder of Stack or Starve, Dough From Da Go, & yours truly, Can I Talk My Ish. The event was hosted by radio personality/host/interviewer, Drea O. The panel discussed what each artist needs to succeed, particularly in Chicago. Some major points made were unity among Chicago artists, the importance of a budget, networking, spending your money correctly, & being true to your artistry.
After the panel wrapped up & everybody exchanged information the concert began. There were performances by Sincere, MegaStar, D Wolo, Troop, Joe Rodeo, Morgan Mimosa, Prospec Flow, Sprkz, Frank Looney, Jilla, Concept, Dott Richey, Flight Gang, Ron Drillz, Saint Nick, Hunnit Gang, DoeBoe, YLS, 50/50 records, Nod, Gerald G the mentor, I.D., & You C.
