Last night we went out to Old Crow Smokehouse for the premiere party of Black Ink Crew Chicago. It was a great event full of fun & the best of the city.
They really brought the city out last night. Everybody came through to show love, celebrate with the cast, & watch the premiere. It was a huge crowd which featured such faces as the Leading Ladies of Chicago, WGCI’s Kyle Santillian, Kendra G & Tone Capone, the legendary, George Daniels, Kandyce Hogan & GLC. Of course the cast of Black Ink Crew Chicago, Ryan, Phor, Kat, Don, Ashley, Charmaine, Danielle, & Van were there turning up with the people as well as their family & friends.
DJ Protege was playing music as the crowd drank, ate, & hung out. That is until the show premiered on large screens on all sides. We were able to enjoy the show & turn up during commercial breaks as music played. For those not as familiar with the show, it revolves around Chicago’s 9 Mag tattoo shop. The shop is owned by Ryan, who tries to maintain the business while keeping everybody together. In the season premiere, the struggle continues to try to keep them a family with Van away at jail, Phor’s music taking off, & Kat doing her own thing the floor above them. The episode featured King Louie, who talked about life after his recent shooting situation. Drama ensues as a lead in to the season which will see Van get out, new artists coming in, & more altercations. There were two episodes premiered & from the crowd reaction, they were definitely captivated.
After the shows premiered, it was time to party as everybody continued to drink & the music got people going. A nice surprise happened when cast members from the original Black Ink Crew in New York came through. Ceasar & Ted were in the building to support.
Overall it was a great night & I look forward to supporting the show. Shout out to Catrice Armstrong of PR Werks & Briea Chanel for inviting us out. Black Ink Crew Chicago is back Mondays at 9/8c. Make sure you tune in.
