This morning, BJ The Chicago Kid was on-air with The Breakfast Club. BJ isn’t an artist that you really hear rumors or anything about; therefore I knew Charlamagne couldn’t ask or say too much of anything ridiculous – you know how Charlamagne do.
BJ The Chicago started off talking about how he grew up in the church & the streets – which reflects in his music. The Breakfast Club jokingly wasn’t aware that black young males attend church in Chicago & were under the impression that Chicago was a dangerous city – probably one of Chicago’s biggest misconception that a lot of people make who aren’t from here. Being a born & raised from here, BJ explained what goes on & his experiences. Not to mention that he doesn’t live in Chicago anymore; however, he still represents Chicago to the fullest – pep the Cub hats & he plans on being in a better position to help his hometown.
BJ The Chicago also managed to talk about his experience with artists such as Mary Mary, Dr. Dre, Kanye West and more. From what was said, Dr. Dre has really inspired BJ in a tremendous way and he’s also someone who BJ admires as a person. Another person who BJ The Chicago talked about that inspires him is another fellow Chicagoan, Chance The Rapper who he reference to as his little brother.
