Last night, Beyonce came outta nowhere and dropped the album we’ve been waiting for all year. Not only did she drop a 14 track album, but also 17 videos. It was like Christmas came early!
Her self-titled album is currently only available on iTunes, though it is rumored that physical copies will be available in the next 2 weeks. Happy Holidays indeed!
I of course had to buy it and let me tell you this album is more than worth the wait. Every song is amazing. Every video is beautiful. The production, the features, the lyrics, it is just all awesome. This is gonna be another album that I have revolving favorites on.
It swooped in and became my favorite album of the year and possibly my favorite from Beyonce. She is just so grown and clearly is done caring about what her critics think about her. The attitude, sexuality, and bravado on this record is just so big and bold and radiant. She put her heart into it, just like she does everything else. I cannot pick a favorite song.
So many different sounds and styles. So many anthems and great heartfelt songs. She really created a phenomenal album.
The album features Frank Ocean, Drake, Jay z and even Blue Ivy on a song Beyonce dedicated to her called Blue. It also features Chimamanda Ngozi Adiche on a very turnt up and empowering song called ***Flawless.
The album sold 80,000 in 3 hours. I mean, what can you even say. The entire internet was going crazy. The way she just put it on iTunes out of nowhere is actually brilliant. It caused a huge splash and had everybody talking. I bet people won’t question whether she’s fit to manage herself anymore.
Get this album. Just get it. You’ll understand once you do. To me it’s like B’day on steroids.
