It’s been a lot of negative talk in regards to several of the challenges many people have been attempting and displaying all over the internet such as the “Fire Challenge”, “Snow Challenge”, “Hold Your Breathe Challenge”, “Slap Your Momma Challenge”…okay maybe I lied, that challenge doesn’t exist and I DO NOT challenge you to even attempt it. That “Slap Your Momma Challenge” may result to you getting beat up by your mother, getting put out, or even having the police called on you. So once again, I strongly advise you not to even attempt that. My point is, many of those challenges are dangerous and can cause physical harm to the body.
Yesterday, we noticed several people accepting the “Ice Bucket Challenge,” where someone stands behind the you holding a large bucket of ice cold water/ice awaiting to pour the entire bucket on your head as the you just stand there. Naturally, I thought it was just another challenge until I noticed more and more celebrities as far as athletes, actors, rappers, singers, comedians and etc. partaking in this specific challenge. The ALS Ice Bucket Challenge is actually for a great cause. ASL which stands for Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis often referred to as “Lou Gehrig’s Disease,” which is a disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord. The Ice Bucket Challenge came about to help raise money for the ALS Association to assist with finding a cure. The Ice Bucket Challenge gives you the temporarily feeling of what’s it like to actually have ALS; therefore if you are challenged by someone, you have 24 hours to accept the challenge of having the Ice Bucket poured on you or donate to the ALS Association. Several people have already made generous donations along with completing the Ice Bucket challenge. The Ice Bucket Challenge is a very creative way to bring light to the Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis disease and raise money to help find a cure.
