Yesterday evening we had the privilege of going out to help Chatoya Antwine & A la carte Galore celebrate their 2 year anniversary at Hyatt Place in Hyde Park. As always it was a great, very educational event.
A la carte Galore is an event & travel planning business which has recently re-branded. Chatoya Antwine has split into 2 companies, the more recent being Creative Co-Lab an exclusive co-working experience for entrepreneurs and creatives through coworking events. Chatoya Antwine is also one of the organizers of the very successful Unlocked Summits. This was another of her amazing events.
It began with a mixer where everyone networked & enjoyed the vendors. We were then introduced to the empowering speakers. It began with Dara A’Darah, founder of Queensview Creative Studios & the IAmQueen movement. She spoke about what she has learned as a business woman which is Be Intentional, Realize Your Value, Know Your Targets, Never settle & never lose sight. She was very inspirational.
Next we heard from Jeffery Beckham, the man behind Black Box Creative, which represents the likes of Common, Erica Campbell, & Tuskegee. It is a company which helps with the development of businesses in the ever-expanding digital landscape. He spoke about moving past fear & stepping out on faith. His business focuses on helping businesses develop, particularly in Chicago’s South & West sides. He emphasized the importance of supporting businesses in the community to help supply it with resources. He spoke on needing skills, experience, & networking. He has just received a grant for his new venture which provides tools to businesses.
Last, but never least was Dr. Shante Bishop. It is always an incredible experience hearing her speak. Beyond Dr. Shante Says, her company Design Your Own Brand, her podcast Branding For Believers, & her book Believing Bigger, she always has incredible words of wisdom. She dropped so many gems. She began with prayer. Then per usual Dr. Shante took us to church, causing many in the room to become emotional. She talked about the gap between where you are & where you want to be. Some are caught between a dream & a job. Sometimes people try to do too much. Plant your seeds, they will take root & grow. After you’ve done the work have a seat & be still. Faith bridges the gap.
There were also great vendors & sponsors such as Her Treasures boutique, iGoalDig, B.O. Essentials, 80th & May Apothecary, Passion jewelry & accessories, motivational speaker & writer Darlisa L. Radford, as well as delicious food from Scratch My Batch & Food Diaries.
