Friday night we had the privilege of going out & experiencing the Spring Megafest presented by Power Move & Saleem Music Group at the UIC Pavilion. If you missed it, you missed out.
People from all over Chicago came out big time last night. The concert opened up with some artists from around the city, many of which we have featured on the site. They were brought out by Ydot Gdot. It started with Zo Entertainment artist Bowl King, who got the crowd into it early. They kept it going with an electrifying performance by rapper Jo’Rodeo. Special guest Butta Da Great also performed. DJ Amaris was also on hand to spin a set.
From there Power 92’s Frankie Robinson & DJ Pharris came out to get the crowd hyped up for Meek Mill. First they brought out Lanipop who danced a bit leading into a performance by Saleem Music Group (SMG). After they graced the stage, rapper Bo Deal came out & got the city turned up.
After a small break out came Meek Mill, which definitely set the building on fire. Everybody was in it dancing & singing along to his biggest hits, such as Amen & House Party. He definitely showed the city love, shouting out many of the rappers from our city. After he shut it down, Jeezy came out & blessed the stage. He was definitely high energy & got much crowd participation. He spoke about how Chicago was one of the first cities to really show him love & make him feel like a superstar. He then concluded his set, but made sure everybody knew that he would be at the official after party at King of Diamonds.
It was overall a great time. The city showed out. Cory Hardrict was even in the building, showing love to fans. And best of all, there was no violence. Shoutout to Jeezy, Meek, SMG & all of the performers. Shoutout to John Doe, Zo Entertainment & everyone else who made the Spring Megafest possible. And a special shoutout to Charismatic Solutions & Robin Snowden, PR extraordinaire.
